Black and white photograph of William Woodward, Jr. (1920-1955) and Anne E. Crowell (1915-1975) at Hialeah racetrack. The left edge of the photograph was neatly ripped off. The other three edges are intact. Inscriptions: Stamped in blue ink at the top of the reverse of the photograph: "Oct31 5 16 AM '55". Stamped in red ink in the center of the reverse of the photograph: "NOV 4 1955". Stamped in black ink in the center of the reverse of the photograph: " NOTICE/ The picture is the property of the Associated/ press and may be used only for the purposes of/ [unknown] when authorized by the owner. It may/ not be syndicated, rented or issued, or used for/ advertising purposes or for the purposes of trade/ The following credit must be printed with/ and reproduction of this picture:/ ASSOCIATED PRESS/ WIREPHOTO/ [unknown] U. S. PATENT OFFICE". Stamped in red ink in the center of the reverse of the photograph: "OCT 31 1955". Handwritten in blue ball point ink across the bottom of the reverse of the photograph: "Mr + Mrs. William Woodward, Jr." Handwritten in pencil on the PL side of the reverse of the photograph: " 1 cal x4 1/4"/ 11:30/ of a woman." Handwritten in pencil on the PR side of the reverse of the photograph, "NP5" in a circle. Below it reads: "4 3/4 x 6 3/4/ 7AM/ Amer/ LINE BORDER." A circular red paper gum label is affixed to the PR side, it reads: 46" stamped or printed on the front. A long, rectangular piece of photo paper is glued to the face of the reverse of the photograph. On it is typed in black ink: (NY2-Oct.30) SOCIALITES IN SHOTGUN FATALITY -- Prominent sportsman and socialite William Woodward Jr./ and his wife, Ann, who reportedly shot and killed her husband accidentally at their Oyster Bay, N.Y.,/ residence today, appear together at Flordia's Hialeah racetrack last year. Nassau County District/ Attorney Frank A.
