Title |
Shirley Baltz Leads Tour Guides on Tour of Belair Mansion 1971 |
Description |
Black and white photograph of a group of women crowded into the entry hall of the Belair Mansion/City Hall. City Historian Shirley Baltz is in the bottom left (light colored scarf.) The attached press release reads, "If you are a sight-seeing guide, how do you spend your holiday? Answer: sight seeing. The ladies in this picture are ones who pilot people on narrative-embellished tours of historical buildings in Annapolis. All but the lady in the lower left. She is Mrs. Shirley Baltz, Bowie resident captured in this photo taking professional colleagues on a tour of the Ogle Mansion, today City Hall in Bowie. George Washington's ghost would not be out of place in the group. The First President in the Eighteenth Century crossed that entranceway area a number of times on visits to the Ogle home." |
